Personal Branding

A few years ago, I convinced this sweet friend of mine to stop by and let me photograph her in my garage. I was eager to practice developing and scanning film at home here in Marin- spoiler alert: it's a lot of fun but best left to my friends at The Find Lab. To this day, I'm still in love with the images we created. You can take a peek at a favorite here.

Jerri recently came back for some updated branding shots. We stuck with the simple black and white style for these lifestyle headshots because it fits her so well.

We shot this session against a white backdrop. As a lifestyle photographer, I typically find myself outside or on location. Especially for branding and marketing images, I aim to photograph people in their element, but sometimes a simple setup is the way to go. Plain backdrops seem like they would be limiting, but it's really the opposite.

I adore these shots. I'm grateful for Jerri's willingness to try my crazy ideas. There was a lot of laughter as we tried, and sometimes failed, to execute the wild ideas we both had for this shoot. I see all my shoots, but especially headshots and brand images, as a collaboration. I love to hear about your goals, your concerns, your style ideas, etc ahead of time.
