My most challenging clients of the year…

…it’s always my own kids! We hit the trails in San Rafael just in time to catch the last of Marin’s wildflower season. Spring is one of my favorite seasons to photograph kids and families in the Bay Area.

Film photography side note: For client work, I remove the film border that surrounds each frame, but I adore the look and generally keep it on all my personal film scans (and am happy to leave it on client images too when requested). These borders are unique to medium format (120) film. Many people are familiar with 35mm film, and that has sprockets lining the outer edges rather than these black borders. #filmnerd 🤓

These two always bring the theatrics. As a parent, I value these silly photos that document their personalities. I know these are the ones I’ll cherish the most when I look back years from now. When I say I’m passionate about creating authentic images, I mean it, and it’s born from a desire to document my own family this way.

That’s it for my own 2025 Spring family photos. I’m calling it a success! Here’s a little “throw back” favorite from 2020 which feels like it was just yesterday.

Time flies and I’m grateful to be able to document all of it. If you’d like to see more of my work, come say hi on Instagram.
